@mbostock sorry, late to this, but I think it helps to clarify that pct. change is *not* the same as the rate/ratio. percent change is (A-B)/B whereas rate is A/B (see here https://t.co/Nw460RvdQT). by that definition, using linear scales for pct change is fine, but not for rates.
